I hold a BCom in Management degree from the University of South Africa (UNISA) and currently studying for MBA with the Eastern and Southern African Management Institute (ESAMI). I also hold a Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management from the Institute of People Management of Zimbabwe to which I am a full member. I acquired a Diploma in Business Administration which I studied with the Zimbabwe Institute of Management, and also a Certificate in Project Planning Monitoring and Evaluation from the University of Zimbabwe.
I contribute to global management knowledge through my interactions on Linkedin, Twitter and Facebook. I also publish articles in Zimbabwe local newspapers like the Financial Gazette, Google+, my blog and the Institute of People Management of Zimbabwe’s Manpower Magazine.
My working experience spans for over 21 years and I worked in human resource management, salaries administration, accounting, financial advisory, sales and consulting. Currently I am contributing to an efficient human resource management of the Public Service Commission Secretariat of Zimbabwe. This includes the Public Service Commission Head Office with 19 agencies plus the Salary Service Bureau and Pensions Office. My contribution involves increasing efficiency through an objective manpower needs analysis, talent management, employee development coordinating constant performance management and fair rewarding of employees. I have been involved in the establishment of an integrated human resources management function in the Public Service Commission. I also provide direction to a budding company which I founded called On The Rock Consultants (Pvt) Ltd. Through On The Rock Consultants I managed to offer marketing services to three organisations and help three others with strategic solutions. I also provide business coaching to individuals through workshops and on a one to one basis.
I managed to establish a payroll system at Montana Meats in 2005 as they were outsourcing the service before my coming in. My contribution led to cutting payroll related costs by 20% and brought flexibility and promptness in responding to salary issues. I contributed to a flawless accounting of salaries as I handled the accounting part as well.
